British Red Cross - Community Connecting Project
Created: 18/04/2018, Updated: 21/05/2018The British Red Cross Community Connecting Project works Fife Wide and their project is directed specifically at lonely and socially isolated people over 16 whom they hope to help achieve independent reconnection to their communities.
This could start with a walk with a volunteer in their local area, to joining local social activities. It is a person-centred goals focused project and they will work with each individual’s particular needs up to a maximum of 12 weeks. If appropriate, they will involve other agencies to achieve this goal and at the reassessment point they may signpost service users to more appropriate agencies.
Individuals can be referred to their service which can come from organisations such as NHS, Charities, Community Groups, Fife Council and Fife Forum. Relatives and friends can refer someone and they also accept self-referrals. They can also come along to staff meetings/client group meetings to tell you more about their project.
