Modern Apprenticeships Workshop
Created: 11/01/2018Workshop on Modern Apprenticeships - 18 January 2018
This popular workshop last year highlighted the high level of interest in apprenticeships within the sector. Since then, there have been a number of policy and operational changes in the Apprenticeship landscape that have an effect on the way we might develop our workforce through apprenticeships and also how this might deliver training.
To follow this up, TSEF have joined forces with the Coalition of Care and Support Providers and SCVO to host a workshop which will provide the latest updates from experts from Scottish Government and Skills Development Scotland, showcase leading examples of apprenticeships within the third sector and provide an opportunity for you to bring your influence to how apprenticeships can work better for the sector.
Registration is now open - please click here to book your place.
You are also reminded that The Scottish Apprenticeship Advisory Board (SAAB) has launched a consultation on ‘Defining an Apprenticeship’ and are seeking views from a range of stakeholders.

Led by employers and representatives from industry bodies across a range of sectors, SAAB was established by SDS to help strengthen employer input into the strategic direction of apprenticeships, ensuring they are aligned with industry and economic need, Fair Work and job opportunities. To support its efforts, SAAB is seeking to bring clarity by providing an agreed definition of what an apprenticeship is. The consultation sets out the key principles SAAB view as critical to apprenticeships in Scotland and members are seeking as much valuable feedback as possible to ensure a collective view is reached on what an apprenticeship is and that it meets future need.
Employers, training providers, organisations and members of the public have the opportunity to comment and the feedback gathered will be used to inform the SAAB’s policy recommendations to Scottish Government
