Methilhill Community Children's Initiative (MCCI) is a community group and registered charity dedicated to providing clubs, activities and experiences to their local children, young people and their families. The group's ethos is of nurturing confident children and responsible citizen's within their community. Their children, young people and their families contribute to planning and development of the group and are at the heart of all decisions made. MCCI is managed by a voluntary board of community members.
The task of the youth work staff is to support the young people managing their projects and assisting the young people in the management of their project including monitoring and evaluation. The Young Volunteer Coordinator will specifically support staff in the planning and delivery of Friday evening youth clubs, and support the young people with their personal development, encouraging involvement in training and awards.
Main Duties Include:
- To support the young people of MCCI in delivering their project activities;
- To participate in sessions, including working outdoors, planting and growing, digging and other gardening activities;
- Support the young people of MCCI in promoting their project;
- To support the young people of MCCI in the management, recording and monitoring and evaluation of their project;
- To support young people in achieving recognised accreditation, including Saltire Awards, Dynamic Youth Awards, and Youth Achievement Awards;
- To deal with enquiries relating to the project;
- To work within the policies and procedures of MCCI;
- To work hours as required, and as agreed with MCCI.
