Around £600,000 of funding, including £240,000 from Standard Life Aberdeen has been made available through the Scottish Veterans Fund in the three years to 2019/20 to support veterans and ex-service charities across Scotland.

Established in 2008, the Fund has invested more than £830,000 and supported 125 projects that provide advice, help and support to the thousands of veterans leaving the armed forces, ranging from employability and housing support to befriending and wellbeing projects, making a vital difference to people’s lives.

Organisations are encouraged to bid for funding to deliver projects that offer new or innovative approaches to tackling the issues veterans face, in areas like health, housing and employment.  As well as one year projects, the fund will consider multi-year bids of up to two years to support more strategic projects.

Further information and applications forms are available on the Veterans Scotland website and completed applications should be submitted to [email protected].

The deadline for applications is 2.00pm on Friday 20 January 2017.
