The Cottage Family Centre - Children's Therapeutic Coordinator

Salary: £20,400
Contract: maternity cover (ends 05 June 2018)
The Cottage Family Centre was established in 1987. The focus of the work at the Centre is to provide a range of support to those families and individuals within family units who are vulnerable to social exclusion as a result of factors such as poverty, unemployment, poor housing, relationship breakdown, drug and alcohol problems and health related issues.
The range of services that the Cottage provide includes a children’s therapeutic service, individual counselling and family therapy and support service.
They are looking for an appropriately qualified and experienced Children’s Therapeutic Coordinator to lead this section of the services delivered by the Cottage.
You must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide individual play therapy with children up to 16 years of age; you will also facilitate a group work programme of support to parents and family therapy. You will have responsibility for the management of a small team and will be involved in the leading of smaller projects associated with the therapeutic services. Experience of managing budgets and staff caseloads would be advantageous.
You will have experience of working in a similar role and have a relevant professional qualification.
You will need to be self-motivated, be a good team worker and have the ability to work independently with a positive and flexible approach and demonstrate a deep understanding of social issues that affect individuals and families.
