  • Lights out in Fife for Earth Hour 2017

    Created: 16/03/2017
    News/Events Category: Community Events

    When: 8.30 - 9.30pm, Saturday 25 March 2017
    Where: Across Fife

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Earth Hour, which is run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), will see cities, communities and landmarks across the globe take part in the initiative, and Fife Council is urging Fifers to do the same.

Thousands of people from across Scotland will join millions around the world in turning off their lights for one hour in a huge, symbolic show of support for action on climate change, and for a more sustainable future.

Earth Hour is not just about how much energy is saved during the hour. Rather, it puts the spotlight on the issues facing the planet, to help inspire millions across the world to live more sustainably.

Now in its tenth year, landmarks including Edinburgh Castle, The Kelpies and Forth Rail Bridge will lead Scotland’s Earth Hour switch off, joining global landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, and Sydney Opera House.

WWF have compiled an inspirational pack to help you make the most of your Earth Hour.
