  • (Last few places) Fife's Third Sector: Towards a Fairer Fife Conference

    Created: 01/03/2017, Updated: 23/03/2017
    News/Events Category: FVA News

    A one-day conference for those leading community groups, voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises in Fife.  This participatory event will provide opportunities for every delegate to consider and shape how Fife's third sector can work towards a Fairer Fife.

    Who's it for?  Anybody working in the third sector in Fife - trustees/committee members, key staff and volunteers.

    Why attend?  Third sector organisations exist to tackle inequality, injustice, poverty and local needs,

    So, come along to:

    • find out more about the work done by the Fairer Fife Commission to consider how to make Fife fairer over the next 15 years;
    • explore how we might work differently, and better, together (both within the third sector and between the third sector and other sectors);
    • contribute your experience, skills and knowledge to the development of the journey towards a Fairer Fife.

    What's the format?  There will be a few key note speakers to provide a brief overview of the Fairer Fife Commission's work, and some context, but most of the day will be given over to facilitated workshops and discussions - a chance for people to discuss their ideas for how we, in the third sector, can maximise the impact we have, particularly where needs are greatest. We're delighted to be working with specialist facilitators Connecting Scotland to help us make the most of these conversations together.

    Who's organising it?  Fife's Third Sector Strategy Group in partnership with Fife Voluntary Action (FVA).  Thanks to financial support from Fife Council we don't have to charge for places.

    What will happen as a result of this event taking place?  Fife's Third Sector Strategy Group and FVA will do three things: 1. write up everything and produce a conference report for wide dissemination, 2. directly shape their strategic plans based on delegates proposals, 3. seek support for our strategic priorities for the next 3 years, from the third sector, before the end of 2017.

    Where do I find out more?  You can contact FVA on 0800 389 6046 if you have any queries or might require support to attend the event. To read more about the work of the Fairer Fife Commission please visit the Fairer Fife website.

    How do I book?  Phone FVA on 0800 389 6046 or e-mail [email protected].

    Please note that we want to ensure as many organisations as possible are able to attend and so we can only confirm one place per organisation in the first instance.  If you'd like more than one place, we'll add additional names to a waiting list and do what we can to accommodate every request.
