Prevent waste at Greener Kirkcaldy's Pumpkin Festival
Created: 03/10/2016, Updated: 06/10/2016 News/Events Category: Community Events
When: 1.30 - 3.30pm , Saturday 29 October 2016 Where: Ravenscraig Walled Garden, Ravenscraig Park, Kirkcaldy , KY1 2AZ
It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.
Join Greener Kirkcaldy to celebrate the wonders that are pumpkins and prevent waste. 18,000 tonnes of pumpkin are currently sent to landfill each year. They think this is a massive waste, so they're holding a Pumpkin Festival to show you all of the things you can do with your big orange friends during, and after, Halloween.
They'll be pumpkin carving and have games and activities alongside giving out yummy tasters and recipes of what you can do with the insides and outsides of pumpkins after they've served their purpose as spooky decorations. They'll also have tips on how to grow your own pumpkins for next year, and they'll show off a few of their own pumpkins grown in their training allotment.
This event is free, open to all of the family, and there's no need to book, just drop by.
