Weaving Creative Threads in Remembrance of the Scottish Witch Hunts
Created: 25/04/2024**Please note: This is not a free event**
Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland is working with Creative Coven to create a national day of remembrance, beginning with the Weaving Creative Threads event.
Weaving Creative Threads features an evocative blend of artists, storytellers, singers, and speakers gathering to remember Scotland's accused witches. Join the event to honour Scottish Cultural creativity and art in all its eclectic forms and remember the sons and daughters of Scotland who suffered for the crime of witchcraft.
This day also includes an exhibition featuring a six foot wicker devil, 3D witches' heads, powerful paintings, enchanted drawings, linen banners with the names of the accused, and a cauldron of workshops.
It is an artistic reclamation and remembrance of the 4th of June, the historical date of the Witchcraft Act 1563.
The event is not-for-profit, so after costs all the money will go to fund a living, breathing, witches memorial grove in the Caledonian Forest.
