Fife Council's Winter Warmer packs have arrived. As with last year, they have a limited number of these available from their four hubs - City Chambers, Baldridgeburn Community Centre, Touch Community Centre, and Dell Farquharson Community Centre - and can be distributed to people as required (see below for criteria).

They have very limited stock, so they advise this is offered when an individual is reporting difficulty in staying warm, paying their bills etc.

    The packs available include:

    • Winter packs (size L only) - small blanket, flask, cushioned hot water bottle, gloves, and thermal socks
    • Heated blankets
    • Oversized fleece hoodie/blanket

    Criteria:

    • Winter Packs are for anyone presenting in immediate crisis and unable to heat their home. Packs are a size L, so please consider this when distributing

    • Heated blankets are ideally for individuals living alone, presenting with financial challenges however have small resource to pay for electric (for example older adults). These blankets would save them heating their entire home, however would not be suitable for those who can not afford to pay household fuel bills

    • Oversized fleece hoodie/blanket for individuals or households presenting in immediate crisis and unable to heat home. These are One Size. Please note that they are unable to give a hoodie per individual within a household

To request packs, please e-mail [email protected]

No personal information is required when handing out these packs, but their Welfare Support staff can offer support with benefit maximisation checks and a few other measures to help people during the winter. If you/your staff could e-mail Lindsay Gilfillan ([email protected]) with any requests for Welfare Support (the person's name and phone number would be required), they can arrange for staff to meet with the person as required.
