    Post: Energy Advisor (Outreach)
    Hours: 35hrs per week
    Salary: £27,086 – £28,086

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people experiencing fuel poverty and food insecurity. They believe in a future where everyone has a say in what happens locally, people are working together to protect the environment and those in hardship are supported to live well. The work is diverse. Their team of 40 staff and 150 volunteers deliver programmes of action on climate change, fuel poverty and food insecurity. They work in Kirkcaldy and across the region of Fife, often in partnership with other charities, community groups and public-sector organisations.

Theye lead the Cosy Kingdom partnership, a free and impartial energy advice service available to all tenants and homeowners across Fife. Their energy advisors help people save energy, stay warm while spending less on fuel and develop skills and confidence to take more control of their energy use and bills. The work plays a vital role supporting people in, or at risk of, fuel poverty and makes an important contribution to tackling carbon emissions and climate change. They are looking for an Energy Advisor (Outreach) to lead a new element of their work - building capacity amongst groups and organisations across Fife to support households in fuel poverty.

The Energy Advisor (Outreach) will provide training to frontline workers, giving them the knowledge and skills to identify households in, or at risk of, fuel poverty, give basic advice and refer for further support. They will also coordinate and deliver a programme of events, talks and workshops, lead a small team of volunteer Energy Champions and support their core work by providing energy advice through home visits, telephone appointments, in our building and at community events. They're looking for an excellent communicator with a genuine desire to tackle fuel poverty and to help the community go greener.

Full training will be provided, including City and Guilds Energy Advice. They would consider requests to work fewer hours. The full job description, person specification and application form are available on Greener Kirkcaldy's website. Application forms should be submitted via e-mail: [email protected] by 5pm on Monday 31 July and interviews will be held on Tuesday 15 August 2023.  Late applications will not be accepted.
