This item will show under the following categories: Community Events VolunteeringOur Volunteer Managers' Forum is open to anyone involved in the recruitment, management or supervision of volunteers in Fife, whether you are staff or a volunteer.
We're aware the cost of living crisis is having a negative impact on volunteer recruitment, and we want to help you with this. We're also aware that the 2022 survey of young people showed that this group are continuing to be involved in volunteering ... with growth! We're therefore putting together a programme of content that will support you to engage more actively with this group and hopefully see a rise in your volunteer numbers.
Alister Hunter from Get The Gen (a social enterprise, specialising in inter-generational teams and workplaces) will be our speaker for this Forum. We are really excited (and hope you will be too!) as not only will Alister be attending in person, he's an enthusiastic and motivational speaker with a wealth of experience and knowledge on engaging young people in volunteering. You can read his bio on the Get the Gen website - the site explains more about their work and links to supporting young people into volunteering.
Volunteer management can be a solitary position; our forums are a great way to meet other people doing a similar role to you and reduce any sense of isolation you may have. The also offer the chance to network (formally and informally), catch up with changes happening in the field, discuss issues you may have, and ask questions of the guest speaker and FVA staff in attendance.
