Greener Kirkcaldy - Summer Outdoor Kids Clubs: Pond dipping and bug hunting
Created: 21/06/2018Pond dipping and bug hunts are loads of fun! Greener Kirkcaldy will investigate what's living in and around the pond - you might find a dragonfly or a great diving beetle. They'll talk about habitats and learn about life cycles of the insects. They'll then go into the nature-friendly area in the park and discover some of the bugs and insects - centipedes, butterflies. grasshoppers and ladybirds are likely to be found. They'll use bug viewers to get a close look at some of the insects - and release them safely back to nature. They take a child-led approach and encourage children to try things out for themselves in a safe environment. Their team will offer support and provide resources.
Suitable for children aged 5-12 years old. Wheelchair accessible. The venue and play space are accessible with care - the ground may be uneven. Booking is required as spaces are limited.
