Greener Kirkcaldy - Summer Outdoor Kids Clubs: outdoor cooking and growing
Created: 21/06/2018Outdoor pizza fun! Greener Kirkcaldy will be making pizzas from scratch to cook in their wood-fired pizza oven. They'll use toppings from their garden - they'll choose and pick the toppings so they are super-fresh, including herbs, courgettes, peppers and onions. They'll pick strawberries and raspberries for pudding - and then they'll sow some seeds for you to take home and grow your own pizza toppings. Cooking and growing can help children to develop skills in problem-solving, communication, maths and also develop an understanding of where food comes from. They'll talk about seasonality and the benefits of local and natural food. They take a child-led approach and encourage children to try things out for themselves in a safe environment. Their team will offer support and provide resources.
Suitable for children aged 5-12 years old. Wheelchair accessible. The venue and play space are accessible with care - the ground may be uneven. Booking is required as spaces are limited.
