    Created: 17/05/2018
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

The Scottish Fisheries Museum is calling on people from all over Fife to apply for a paid learning placement to get their foot in the door to the heritage sector. One placement at an entry level is open to non-graduates with an interest in museums. The one-year programme starting in August/September is funded by the National Lottery 'Skills for the Future' programme and managed by Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS). Learners will complete an accredited vocational programme designed to offer a new entry route into museums work. The programme aims to increase diversity and bring new skills to the sector by bypassing the traditional requirement for academic qualifications and volunteering experience.

The successful candidate will be placed in the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, working alongside museum professionals and learning a range of skills including digitising collections, collections management, learning and engagement.

For an application form please click here. For further information e-mail [email protected].

Please note the closing date for applications is 9.00am on Wednesday 30 May 2018.
