News/Events Category: Job VacanciesThe Ecology Centre is looking for a creative, enthusiastic person with a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to working with young people in engaging and empowering ways. The Education Officer post is a great opportunity to work within a well-respected team to deliver inspiring outdoor and environmental education. The Education officers work in areas around Fife to connect young people to nature for the benefit of both. The Ecology Centre work in some of the most deprived areas in Fife and are passionate about including young people from all different backgrounds.
The post holder should have a confident presentation style; empathy; a love of nature; personal resilience and the ability to respond to challenging situations with humour. The Education Officer role can be a challenging one; the ability to think on your feet is a clear advantage. It is, however, an extremely rewarding role that allows the post-holder to work with vulnerable young people to build their confidence and capacities in an outdoor environment.
Closing date for applications to this post is 5.00pm on Tuesday 05 June. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 26 June.
The interview process will assess aspects of presentation style, creativity in lesson planning and knowledge of native nature. Prospective candidates should not, however, feel that they need to be consistently strong across all these elements, as training will be provided.
