    Salary band - £18,000 – 20,000 (pro rata) depending upon experience. 

    This position is initially funded for six months.

    Based at Howe of Fife Rugby Club, Duffus Park, Cupar, Fife
    Position reports to The Board of Trustees.
    Work pattern – 37.5 hours per week including some evenings and weekends.
    Holiday entitlement – 28 days plus 8 statutory days (pro rata).
    Pension – 4% employer contribution

    Job Purpose Summary

    The café manager will be responsible for the successful operation and management of the community café facilities at Duffus Park, and their development within the local community to provide a high level of customer service, a quality menu and to generate increased income through increasing use of the facilities.

    Key responsibilities

    • To work with the Trustees to develop the café and enhance its role within the community.
    • Build relationships with key partners, stakeholders and user groups to realise the objective of the club being a profitable, community used facility.
    • Develop a varied and attractive hot and cold menu using locally produced, seasonal ingredients.
    • Promote affordable healthy eating.
    • To propose ideas and investigate opportunities to develop footfall.
    • To engage with and develop volunteers in a wide range of roles within the café
    • Consult with the local and sporting communities to determine their needs and implement appropriate changes.
    • To ensure the maintenance and Health and Safety of the facility is timeously and efficiently managed.
    • To ensure efficient staffing levels are maintained to meet all of the varied requirements of a fully utilised community cafe.
    • To market and promote facilities through a wide range of media.
    • To ensure the café facility is fully operational at all major sports fixtures throughout the week and weekend as required.

    Required Attributes /Skills

    Self-driven, with very strong interpersonal skills and a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. Catering experience, with ability to prepare and cook as necessary to maintain the daily menus.  Awareness of budget controls and ability to work within those. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with Key Partners (external and internal), Stakeholders, Sponsors, club members and the general public. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Strong communicator with good IT and Social Media skills. Good Marketing knowledge and skills. Able to work successfully on own initiative and as part of a team and to prioritise workload.  Experience and understanding of community engagement techniques, and of working with Third Sector organisations and volunteers.
